GMB, the energy union, has responded to a drop in the energy price cap, which was announced today.
Andy Prendergast, GMB National Secretary, said:
“Any reduction in the price cap is likely to provide some relief for households.
“But people across the UK are still struggling with historically high bills as a direct result of failed energy policies.
“No one is denying that international events have impacted on prices but repeated Government failures have left consumers carrying the can.
“A comprehensive energy plan can avoid these shocks in the future and provide the stability that we so desperately need.”
