Alzheimer's Workers Coming Together for Union Recognition, Collective Bargaining and Better Pay
Posted on:
Do you work for Alzheimer’s Society UK?
As this year’s Pay Award approaches, workers at Alzheimer’s Society are coming together to campaign for:
Transparency – a fair pay and grading structure that allows younger staff to develop their skills and career
Consistency – in the application of policies, pay structure, benefits and expenses claims
Process – to eliminate discrimination through ensuring processes are fair, transparent and applied equally to support workers in their roles.
All of these work towards achieving Fair Pay, Progression and Equality.
This can all be achieved through what’s called collective bargaining. This means that an employer needs to negotiate with the recognised union on terms and conditions.
Currently, Alzheimer’s Society UK don’t recognise any unions which means pay is imposed, not negotiated.
GMB members are organising for GMB to become the recognised union for workers at Alzheimer’s Society.
If you work for Alzheimer’s Society UK and agree that change needs to happen, you can join GMB Union and get invited to one of the meetings and speak to other colleagues working towards a fairer working life at the Society.
