Dear members,

GMB has welcomed and increase in the use of cash, which saw nearly 33 million withdrawals made from its ATMs last year, a 4.6 per cent increase on 2023 and up almost 29 per cent on 2021’s figure of 25.4 million.

We have thousands of members employed in the cash industry, who provide safe and secure services across the country, which is why we have a longstanding policy position supporting Access to Cash in the UK economy.

We also want to avoid a digital divide that results in a two tier society of services, and the continuing use and acceptance of cash in the UK economy ensures all sectors of our society remain included.

Dear GMB Members,

We hope that this email finds you well.

Firstly GMB has to acknowledge that in recent times we haven’t had the same level of engagement with Security Plus, compared with our work in G4S Cash and Loomis.

However following the purchase of Security Plus by Pivotal we’ve had both members contacting us and contact nationally with Pivotal HR.

We’re very aware that there are likely to be questions regarding the proposed merger, and we’d like to ensure that members know that they can reach out to GMB too.

We have flagged with Pivotal HR that we’re expecting requests for visits to Branches in the coming months, and wanted to ensure that we could agree the necessary protocols that meet all the relevant security and safety measures.
