Over the last few months, GMB has been in talks with Centrica about the Field Services pay claim for 2024.
We have made the case for an offer that delivers both a reasonable pay increase and a step towards a fairer work-life balance. Unfortunately, the latest offer falls short of those demands.
As a result, we feel we have no option but to hold an indicative ballot to understand whether you, our members, are willing to accept the offer, or whether you want to reject it and instruct GMB to begin a full industrial action ballot to secure an improved offer.
For the avoidance of doubt, your senior reps have unanimously agreed to recommend that you vote to reject the offer.
With a strong vote to reject and to move to an industrial action ballot, the company will be in no doubt as to the strength of feeling amongst our members that the offer is simply not good enough.
To be clear, under the law, no industrial action can be taken without a formal industrial action ballot, by post. At this stage, we are only asking you to vote to reject the offer and to authorise us to begin that ballot process.
