Almost 200 GMB members will walk out for six days in September; 12, 16, 19, 23, 26 and 30.
Staff are angry after being offered just a 3.1 per cent day deal, amounting to massive real terms pay cut with RPI inflation at 12.3 per cent.
Meanwhile Walsall Housing Group’s chief executive was handed a 14.7 per cent pay rise. [1]
Justine Jones, GMB Organiser, said:
“GMB members are being expected to swallow this paltry pay deal while the boss trousers a whopping wage rise.
“It’s no wonder they are angry and ready to strike.
“These are the people who kept the company afloat during the pandemic, now they need some help to make ends meet during the cost of living crisis.
“It’s not too late to avert industrial action; Walsall housing group just needs to get around the table and make our members a reasonable offer.”
