School support staff urge Ofsted to recognise their work

GMB has responded to Ofsted’s Big Listen project.

Stacey Booth, GMB National Officer said:

“School support staff are often the workers closest to SEND children – who best understand their needs and how to improve standards for them.

“Ofsted must listen to school support staff. And they need to end one word judgements of schools.

“The focus must be on improving school services for everyone – not arbitrary results that pile pressure and stress onto school staff.”
