School chaos continues after hundreds of children were suddenly to sent to learn at home.
Around 200 Year 7 pupils from Churchill Community College were due to be move to a vacant office building from 7 May while their own building was checked after the roof fell in at another school.
Parents were already upset as the new building had no capacity for hot school meals.
But at the 11th hour – on the evening of Friday 3 May – parents were told due to issues with the windows in the office building they would have to return to home learning.
Craig Thompson, GMB Activist, said:
“This is becoming a farce.
"It is causing massive stress and anxiety for children, parents carers and staff.
“North Tyneside needs to get these children somewhere suitable to learn ASAP.”
