Industrial action will hit housing across the West Midlands unless company top brass to bring a fair pay offer to the table.
GMB union have today announced the outcome of an industrial action ballot at Walsall Housing Group, one of the West Midlands’ biggest housing providers.
75% of members asked voted to back industrial action, which could result in hundreds of workers downing tools in their campaign for fair pay.
Justine Jones, GMB Midlands Organiser, said:
“This is one of the region’s biggest housing providers, whose own employees are struggling to pay their mortgages and rent during a cost of living crisis.
“The result goes to show the depth of feeling amongst GMB members at Walsall Housing Group. We’ll be calling meetings with members over the coming days to decide the union’s next steps.
“Now is the time for Walsall Housing Group management to step back from the brink and bring an offer to the table that reflects the contribution our members make to this company.
