GMB, the energy union, has joined calls from Citizens Advice, Which?, Aldersgate Group and the Federation of Master Builders for the Government to address the obstacles currently faced by consumers to decarbonise its 29 million homes.
Andy Prendergast, GMB National Secretary, said:
“This confirms what GMB have been saying for some time.
“The idea this can be left to the market is to ask consumers to take expensive decisions when they don’t have the necessary information about what will work in the long term.
“It underlines the need for a properly funded Government strategy to provide advice and guidance on the types of system that will work in individual properties.
“Without this we run the risk of another mis-selling debacle which seriously undermine the process.”
