Flogas workers at the Llandarcy depot have begun a five-day strike in a dispute over pay.
Up to 20 workers at gas giant’s depot in South Wales have downed tools following this year’s below inflation pay offer.
After months of negotiation, workers voted to strike with a majority of more than 80 per cent.
The following day, Flogas announced redundancies at the site.
Peter Hill, GMB Regional Organiser, said:
"Despite months of negotiation the company has refused to move on its original offer to our members.
“Only days after our strike vote the response of the company was to announce redundancies.
“GMB believes this is a deliberate attempt at union-busting.
“Flogas needs to come back to the table with a view to negotiate a settlement to this dispute"
