Care providers cutting support for vulnerable adults due to cash pressures - report

GMB, the union for care workers, has responded to today’s report which finds the number of social

care providers forced to cut support for vulnerable adults has doubled in the past 12 months due to financial pressures. 

Kelly Andrew, GMB National Officer, said:

“This report should come as no surprise to anyone who is involved within the sector.

“We are at the point of a catastrophic failure in social care unless this Government acts now.

“How many reports are needed for this government to recognise that years of underfunding cannot be fixed with a sticking plaster and false promises?”
