A Barrow bin strike has been confirmed after GMB members voted for industrial action.
Environment voted unanimously to walk out.
The strikes will take place on six days from 9 – 11 March and then 16 - 18 affecting more than 33,000 households.
Michael Hall, GMB Organiser, said:
“Barrow refuse collectors are angry; despite inflation running sky high bosses won’t even give them a three per cent pay rise so they can make ends meet.
"Thanks to their penny pinching, the people of Barrow face the massive disruption of a bin strike.
“It’s not too late - GMB urges management to get round the table and offer these keyworkers the pay rise they deserve, before industrial action takes place.”
