GMB North-East, Yorkshire & Humber Region has a vacancy for a Support Worker to support the work of the Region’s Recruitment, Organising and Campaigning agenda.

The North-East, Yorkshire & Humber Region is currently seeking applications for a Support Worker based in the Wakefield office. This is an exciting role, where you will be responsible for assisting with the administration and support needs of the Wakefield officers, as well as working closely and collaboratively with the wider regional team, to ensure a smooth and efficient running of all regional business.
The successful candidate needs to be aware that they may on occasions be expected to travel to other locations in the Region, and to cover between teams.
This is a dynamic role that will allow the successful candidate to be actively involved in all areas of the region’s activities, including supporting the teams out on demonstrations and campaigns, and taking a leading role in handling all aspects of the office team’s social media activity.
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a flexible attitude and a full range of administrative and organisational skills as outlined in the job description
- Be able to work on their own initiative to undertake duties in a professional and efficient manner
- Have an understanding of the GMB Union, other Trade Unions, as well as commitment to the wider Trade Union and Labour Movement
- Be a strong multi-tasker
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Possess strong IT skills
