GMB members working in councils deserve better.
Local government workers keep our streets clean, our traffic moving, care for our sick and vulnerable, and deliver much-loved community services.
But for far too long the people who keep our vital local services going have been treated with disrespect by the Government.
GMB wants an above inflation increase in pay and a review and improvement of NJC terms for family leave and pay and an additional day of annual leave for personal or well-being purposes.
The pay offer is a flat rate increase of £1,925 (gross before tax), but there’s no additional money from Government to fund the increase in pay.
Local authority workers know what this will mean in reality – another depressing round of service reviews that results in more people leaving.
In effect, the Government is asking you to pay for your own pay rise – a disgraceful position that risks the delivery of essential services for the people of our country.
Join GMB members working for local authorities in the campaign for full funding of the NJC pay offer – “Pay What You Say”.
Tell us below about what you do, how your job has changed, why you deserve a proper pay rise and why the Government should fund the NJC pay offer.
